AE86 new suspension-o setup-o :)

I have been lucky to win some old front coilover set of an ebay. It was a  pretty old Tein setup. I contacted Tein for some spare parts that I needed for rebuilding them, but they informed me that this was a 30 year old unit and that they basically could not help. It was a whole strut assembly - springs perches, insert and camber plates. I also won a set of rear bilstein inverted shocks on a different lot. Here is the "new" suspension when it came home:

AE86 steering rack rebuild

Hey Guys. Quite  a long time no post in here but slowly I will try to compensate for that.

There was a period that I was away from my home country and I could not work on my car but thing are now slowly getting back to normal. I will try to document and show what I am doing and I hope that this would be interesting.

I have made a lot of things for my Hachiroku project, mainly maintenance work keeping the car running pretty much in stock form but Also some new things have arrived and I hope the would be interesting for you.

This article would show the rebuild of the Steering rack I did maybe a year ago.

I managed to source most of the parts form my local car parts supplier and everything pretty much came under 50 euro in terms of parts. Here is the list of what I have changed.

The rack has been disassembled and the inner and outer tie rods replaced with ones. Also the rubber sleeves were quite shot so I also replaced them.

Here is the rack when I removed it from the car.

Hachi Dori project part 3...

So after a few months (collecting money tools and parts) I decided to take apart the engine, to check the head and block and to inspect it. I have also bought new diff bearings, and crush sleeve spacer, 2 new halfshaft bearings. I machined my own stopper washers, disasembled the rear end and took the diff and halfshafts to a shop for the installment of the new bearings.

Hachi Dori project part 2...

OK, so After that came my first time at the race track with this car.  So It was A drift day event a lot of drifting through the weekend.
Because of some problems with the cooling before leaving for the event I checked the thermostat and flushed the

whole cooling system. Put some tyres and wheels and I was ready to go.

Hachi Dori project part 1...

Hi everyone!

I few words about me - my name is Plamen, I am 24 from Bulgaria. I was studying Economics in Bulgaria, but a year ago I decided that I really want to get serious with cars and that I see myself in the future working with cars no just as my hobby. So now a year later I am studying Automotive Technology in Aarhus, Denmark and I really enjoy it. I have always been thrilled with cars ever since I was I child, so I guess this is a natural step for me.
